Terms of service

Play fair, be kind to other keepers, and don't try to break the game. Items and Glints are for playing Mimori, not for selling. We'll keep improving the game, which sometimes means changing how things work.

1. These terms

Mimori is a game played as a Discord Activity, made and run by ERA HQ LLC ("ERA HQ", "we", "us"). By playing Mimori you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't play.

Mimori runs on Discord, so you also need to follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. If those and these terms disagree about something on Discord's platform, Discord's terms win.

2. Who can play

You must be old enough to use Discord where you live (at least 13, or older where local law requires). If you're under the age of adulthood where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission to make purchases.

3. Your keeper and your mims

Your keeper is tied to your Discord account, and your progress follows you to any server you play Mimori in. Keep your Discord account secure; anything done in Mimori from your account counts as done by you.

4. Glints, items and mims

Glints, items, eggs, mims and everything else you earn or buy in Mimori are part of the game. We give you a personal, limited right to use them while you play. They aren't money, they have no cash value, and you can't exchange them for money or anything outside the game.

You can trade with other players only through the game's own Market and trades. Selling, buying or trading Mimori items, mims or accounts for real money or for anything outside the game isn't allowed.

5. Purchases

Anything sold in Mimori is sold through Discord, and Discord's payment terms apply. Purchases are final unless Discord's refund policy or the law where you live says otherwise. If something you bought doesn't arrive, email us and we'll put it right.

We may change, rebalance or retire purchasable items as the game develops. If we retire something you paid for that lasts over time, we'll offer something fair in its place.

6. Playing fair

When you play Mimori, don't:

cheat, use bots or scripts, or exploit bugs to gain an advantage (if you find a bug, tell us);
try to get into parts of the game, other players' accounts or our systems that aren't meant for you;
disrupt or overload the game, or interfere with other people's play;
harass, threaten or scam other players, including through trades;
give mims names that are hateful, sexual, harassing or impersonate someone.

7. What you name and make

Names you give your mims and the way you arrange your Homestead are shown to other players. You give us permission to store and display them as part of the game. We may change or remove anything that breaks these terms.

8. Changes to the game

Mimori is still growing. We may add, change or remove features, adjust how the game is balanced, or fix mistakes in your account (for example, removing items gained through a bug). We may also stop offering Mimori. If we ever plan to shut it down, we'll give players notice in the game first.

9. Suspension and ending

You can stop playing at any time, and you can ask us to delete your data as described in the privacy policy. If you break these terms, we may limit, suspend or remove your access to Mimori, and you may lose your progress and items. We'll act in proportion to what happened.

10. Ours and Discord's

Mimori, its art, characters, music, code and names belong to ERA HQ LLC or the people who license them to us. Discord and its logo belong to Discord Inc. Please don't copy or reuse our work outside the game without asking.

11. No warranty

We work hard to keep Mimori running and fun, but it's provided "as is". We can't promise it will always be available, error-free or that your progress will never be affected by a fault. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim warranties of any kind.

12. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost progress or items. Our total liability to you for anything related to Mimori is limited to the amount you paid for Mimori purchases in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50 if that's more. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

13. Disputes

If you have a problem, email us first; most things can be sorted out quickly. These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, United States, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of North Carolina, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it locally.

14. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll let players know in the game before it takes effect. Playing after a change means you accept the new terms.
